Scenic Train Journey
This 9-day tour combines nature and adventure. You can cover Colombo, Kandy, Nanu Oya, Ella, Yala, Mirissa, and Bentota through this tour. In this tour, you can experience boat riding, jeep safari, and whale watching. You visit the most visited tourist spots such as the Temple of the Tooth Relic, Royal Botanical Garden, Tea plantation factory, Little Adam’s Peak, Nine Arches Bridge, Ravana waterfalls, Yala National Park, and Turtle Hatchery in this tour.
Itinerary
Day 01
When you reach Colombo, you will be taken to Kandy by car. In between the journey make a stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. You can learn about the current conservation efforts and see young elephants in their natural environment. Visit the holy Temple of the Tooth and the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. Spend an overnight stay in Kandy to unwind.
Day 02
Take a scenic train journey from Kandy to Nanu Oya. Visit the tea plantation and factory in Nuwara Eliya. You can witness the process of producing tea from picking. In the evening, go for a boat ride on Gregory Lake, which allows you to observe the serene surroundings. Admire the beauty of the city by spending a night in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 03
Travel from Nanu Oya to Ella on a lovely train excursion. Among the stunning sights, you will witness waterfalls, rolling hills, and beautiful surroundings. Spend an overnight stay at Ella.
Day 04
Go for a hike to Little Adam’s Peak to witness the breathtaking vistas and get the best view of Ella Gap. You can see the surrounding valleys, hills, and waterfalls. Visit Nine Arches Bridge, which is famous for its impressive structure. Travellers can discover a lush valley and a peaceful environment. Spend a cosy night at Ella and immerse yourself in its beautiful environment.
Day 05
On the fifth day of your trip, you will be taken to Yala from Ella by car. Visit the beautiful Ravana Waterfall, which is one of the popular waterfalls in Sri Lanka. Later, go for a jeep safari at the Yala National Park. It makes your trip more exciting. Leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and a variety of birds can be seen here. Enjoy an exciting overnight stay to cap off the day.
Day 06
Add an exciting car drive from Yala to Mirrissa. You will pass through a fascinating and varied region of Sri Lanka. You can witness rural areas and lush plantations in between the travel from Yala’s wildlife to Mirissa’s coastline.
Day 07
Board a train in Mirissa that leads to Bentota. It is a perfect travel to witness coastal views. Start your day with an exciting aquatic activity such as whale-watching. Later visit the turtle hatchery to examine the turtles and proceed to experience the boat travel on the Madu River. Spend your night in Bentota after ending your daily activities.
Day 08
A scenic train journey from Bentota to Colombo will be added to your trip. Once you arrive in Colombo visit the sights such as Galle Face Green, Pettah Market and Gangaramaya Temple. You can experience the active city life in the evening. Spend the night in Colombo after a day of exploration.
Day 09
Depart for the Airport with memorable memories of your Sri Lankan trip.
